  so in the washington dc area, 9/11 is still a constant part of almost every day. (not that it isn’t where you are, but i know that due to the proximity et al it’s still very prevalent to hear/see things about it). i know that people grieve and deal with tragedy in different ways, but two things as of late struck me in rather poor taste, even though i’m sure they didn’t mean anything bad at all by what they [...]

• catching up and nesting

  i’ve been trying to get the house in some semblance of order for a few weeks now. i’m going through rooms (or trying to when i have the energy, i’m starting to lose it again) and getting rid of things that have piled up for years and we haven’t used, and organized things. the kitchen was a huge task, but one of my first. it’s not done yet though, i’ll have to wait until after the baby for that – [...]

• baby shower, family visits, lots of fun

  baby shower was this weekend. it was awesome, but i’ll get to that.
  last week both flew and drug by. i couldn’t wait for people to get here so i could see them, but once it arrived it was zoomzoomzoom. sister’s brood came up thursday afternoon, so i got to steal my nephew before the rest of the family came. he only gets cuter.
  friday night my parents surprised us by calling while we were out to dinner telling us [...]

• productive day

  for chris mostly. he’s a superstar. i mean, i did a lot too, but it was all sort of vain and for me. i haven’t done that in a while though, so i’m really not all too guilty.
  we woke up early and started on operation move crap out of the way for the carpet cleaner guys. the house is pretty clean but we had a lot of stuff ON stuff that needed to move, beds that needed to be [...]
