• random morning hospital observations

  -the cups that they use for both tea and coffee smell of coffee, regardless of what is in them (currently decaf tea that smells like old coffee)
  -the 3rd year medical student/resident that was brand new when we were here last has clearly entered his zone. he’s a good kid, even if he he wasn’t even born yet when regan was shot (it came up this morning), and i remember it clearly
  -having a tv remote that only lets you click [...]

• heading in the right direction

  the doctors here talked to the surgeon, who verified that the issue we thought he had, he does. he scheduled the surgery for tuesday the 3rd, and we’ll be in the hospital until then. first here, and then transferred back to fairfax on monday. it’ll be good to be close to home for most of it. he’s doing much better – much happier, and back to flirting with the nurses. i swear he’ll be crying for me, and then when [...]

• back in the hospital

  yesterday started like every other day, but as each minute went by, the boy got more grumbly – just like last saturday. i kept checking his temp, and it stayed low. i figured it was gas, and ran to the store to get some gripe water, but the little in town pharmacy that carries it was closed for the holiday. i went to giant, got some mylicon, and came home to discover chris re-took his temp, and it was high [...]

• lazy day

  but really no. we woke up way too early for a day chris has off, cleaned the kitchen and the living room, the rugs, chris mowed the backyard, etc etc. once the boy wakes up he gets fed, changed, and we’re off to the store to get some food to take on home.
  oh before i forget – happy anniversary to jesse and diana. one year down, many many many happy ones to follow!

• update de random

  alex:
  -alex came home from the hospital on tuesday night. he’s on 10 days of some major antibiotics, and then back to his regular one.
  -no call from the surgeon this week, so his date is still tbd.
  -he is generally really awesome, and cuter every day.
  me:
  -found awesome new body wash at target called soap and glory. i swear for once a product’s claims are true. my arms have never felt so niiice.
  -lazy weekend = awesome.
