• crafty crap update

  i’ve been getting my crafty groove back somewhat as of late. i haven’t knitted in months (which is sad, but i’ll fix that soon enough) but i’ve been using my embroidery machine a bit. i made a bib for friends, and i’ve got a few more things to make their baby. i’m also making a few things for etsy, we’ll see how those sell. i’ll put pictures up when i get samples made.

• anytime i have a long weekend

  the next monday makes me miss the boy so much.
  it was his birthday on friday. one year since he was born, one year since his first surgery and our long journey. i’ve got a lot to say that was going around in my head that day, but since i’m not sure i’ll ever find the time to say it all, i’ll sum up. i can always say it twice.

• registering a 3 on the smart scale

  i just had a cavity filled (yuck). at least it was a small one. they had to heavily numb the right side of my mouth (and thus part of my face) because i kept being able to feel the drill.
  so on the way home i get pei wei. and chopsticks.
  rice + chopsticks / numb mouth = hilarity.
  i bet i go largely hungry this afternoon.

• forgetting previously learned behavior – the NOVA edition

  my husband has scanners. whenever there is weather (or really whenever we get the notion to) we’re listening to them. so far the two major roads to work have their ramps blocked by accidents or closures – we’re not going anywhere. it’s less about us getting to work – we think we could get there, and daycare is closed. it’s more about the other yahoos on the road, and the fact that a few mild winters has bred a lack [...]
