no, seriously – i’ve had this conversation. but usually when the first line delivered by the other person is said in a totally snarky manner.

i’m not sure why some people begrudge when you can actually do something well. i’ve had people say, ‘i thought you just knit scarves’ when they see i’ve done something complex and nice, and others say, ‘couldn’t you just have bought that’? i can do few things reasonably well, and one of them is knitting. people just love to cut others down. i love you if you don’t, so this isn’t for you.
